Occupational Therapist Practice Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Practice Development Team at Sheffield City Council. As an Occupational Therapist Practice Development Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting Occupational Therapy staff to develop a best practice approach that reflects the voice of our customers and maintains professional standards.
About the Role:- Deliver key elements of our Sheffield Workforce Development Strategy, with particular emphasis on Occupational Therapy practice and workforce planning.
- Provide practice development support to services across all Adults Care and Wellbeing services in relation to Occupational Therapy models, proportionate approaches to care, and person-centred practice to ensure high-quality standards and best outcomes for the people of Sheffield.
- Identify practice trends across Adults Care and Wellbeing, locally and nationally, using research and evidence to identify priorities and design initiatives to improve practice and/or address specific issues or concerns.
- Manage, in collaboration with Services, the drafting, production, communication, implementation, and review of policy and practice guidance, working with Services to ensure guidance usage, compliance, and impacts are quality assured and monitored, and so that best practice is continually developed.
- Line management of staff within the Practice Development team and manage other team members as required.
- Support the Principal Occupational Therapist with local, regional, and National workstreams in relation to the National AHP strategy and Principal Occupational Therapy taskforce.
- Represent Sheffield City Council Occupational Therapy locally, regionally, and Nationally as guided by the Principal Occupational Therapist.
