About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GCSE English Language Moderator to join our team at Pearson. As a GCSE English Language Moderator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our GCSE English Language qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Review and moderate centre assessments of GCSE English Language candidates' work in accordance with agreed assessment criteria and Pearson's procedures.
  • Undertake direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.
  • Complete and submit centre reports to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator as required.

Requirements

  • One academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years and within the relevant qualification and subject.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified teacher status.

Competencies

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.
