Job Summary:

Nicholas Associates is seeking a highly experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our team. As a SHEQ Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding and Induction: Develop and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs for new employees, including company inductions and drug and alcohol screening.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure daily operations are compliant with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Site Support and Advice: Provide functional support to site management and operational teams, advising on HSEQ standards and best practices.
  • Risk Assessment and Method Statements: Support the development and review of risk assessments and method statements to ensure they are effective and up-to-date.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and deliver bespoke training packages to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Incident Investigation: Collaborate with operational teams to investigate and respond to unwanted events, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a SHEQ Advisor or in a related field.
  • Strong mechanical or scaffolding background preferred.
  • Experience working in the power industry or a similar sector.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites in the north west region.
  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent.
  • Member of IOSH or a similar OHS certified body.
