A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Chartered QS and PM Consultancy based in the East Midlands. As part of the Residential team, you will work on new build social housing projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for one or multiple projects from a portfolio that primarily includes new build or refurbishment of affordable housing or social housing.

Most projects are long-term client work, either negotiated or won as part of a services framework.

Significant work is repeat business from clients such as housing associations and developers.

You will be based in the Nottingham office with potential to work from home a few days a week.

The ideal candidate will be willing to travel to sites across the UK as required, so a driving license is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

The Quantity Surveyor role will involve pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties, with a focus on providing excellent pre-contract services to repeat client customers.

  • Preparing cost estimates, tender preparation, contract administration, cost reporting, and schedules of work.
  • Acting as Employer's Agent on Design and Build projects.
  • Providing exceptional communication with project clients and other design team consultants.
  • Following the company Quality Management System in delivering all services.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and developing effective time management strategies.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 to 4 years' experience in running projects as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager for a Private Practice, Construction Company, or related organisation.
  • Experience working as an Assistant QS / Quantity Surveyor/ Cost Consultant / Employers Agent on building housing projects is desirable.
  • Proficiency in measurement, ideally using CostX Measurement Software, is beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • A valid driving license and a car are essential.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
