Job Title: Strategic Buyer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Buyer to join our team at AMETEK. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities across various categories, with a focus on cost reduction, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve optimal cost reduction and supplier performance.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and minimizing disruptions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and develop effective procurement solutions.
  • Analyze market trends and data to inform procurement decisions and drive business growth.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement or a related field, with a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques, with a focus on process optimization and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace or regulated industry experience, with a strong understanding of technical requirements and manufacturing processes.
  • Degree in Purchasing and Supply or CIPs qualified, with a focus on procurement and supply chain management.
