About the Role

We are seeking a Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a child who has exceptional needs in a primary 2 class.

The successful candidate will provide care and assistance to the pupil, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and achieving their full potential.
  • To assist the teacher in implementing individualised plans for the pupil.
  • To provide additional support to the pupil during lessons and activities.
  • To maintain accurate records of the pupil's progress and development.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification or experience in working with children with additional support needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and commitments.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £24.21 - £25.63 per hour, depending on experience.

This is a temporary position until 26th June 2025, working 38 weeks per year, during school term time only.

The successful candidate will be based in Law Primary School, which serves the town of North Berwick.
