About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Merchandiser to join our Merchandising department at Peacocks. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving the business forward by developing, planning, and delivering a commercially focused range alongside the Buyer.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Planning and Organisation: Create a vision for the department that encompasses strategy, budget, and product for both the short and long term. Work closely with the Buyer to build a balanced range in line with customer expectations that reflects the Peacocks brand strategy.
  • Trading: Take responsibility for flexing trade between categories and managing mixes, optimising sales and stock levels, and intake phasing to an agreed divisional and departmental plan. React to current sales and trends by managing OTB or current stock situations and repeating, cancelling, or re-phasing where necessary.
  • Commercial Awareness: Work closely with the Head of Merchandising to devise a department merchandising strategy that demonstrates a clear understanding of external factors and competitor activity. Develop a strong understanding of the customer to take account of when planning and building a range.

**Requirements:**

  • At least 4+ years of experience in a similar Head Office environment and a proven track record in a merchandising role.
  • Advanced Excel user.
  • Experience in working with UK/overseas manufacturers/factories.
