Lead Depot Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Depot Manager to lead and optimize the operations at our depot and transfer station in Middlesbrough. If ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and operator licenses is more than just a responsibility but a passion for you, this is the role where you can truly excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with experts in a diverse and open environment where transparency is the foundation.
  • Lead and inspire a team of drivers and staff, cultivating a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to excel.
  • Oversee the coordination and management of all depot-based resources, driving improvements in operational productivity and service quality.
  • Take charge of the depot's profit and loss budget, delegating responsibilities appropriately to ensure consistent year-on-year growth.
  • Engage with customers to maintain strong relationships and ensure they receive exceptional service at competitive costs.
  • Set clear objectives for operational staff, monitor performance regularly, and take corrective action as needed to achieve targets.
  • Influence key decisions, implement new practices, and help define the strategic direction of the depot.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Operations / Depot / General Manager or in a similar high-responsibility role within services or logistics.
  • Commercial acumen to thrive in a fast-paced, commercially driven, and time-sensitive environment.
  • Leadership in complex settings, including people management and health & safety within a unionized, multi-shift environment.
  • Familiarity with the local area for effective operations.
