We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Depot Manager to lead and optimize the operations at our Middlesbrough depot and transfer station.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and operator licenses.
- Collaborate with a team of dedicated waste management professionals to drive improvements in operational productivity and service quality.
- Oversee the coordination and management of all depot-based resources, including drivers and staff.
- Take charge of the depot's profit and loss budget, delegating responsibilities appropriately to ensure consistent year-on-year growth.
- Engage with customers to maintain strong relationships and ensure exceptional service at competitive costs.
- Set clear objectives for operational staff, monitor performance regularly, and take corrective action as needed to achieve targets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Operations / Depot / General Manager or in a similar high-responsibility role within services or logistics.
- Commercial acumen and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
- Leadership experience in complex settings, including people management and health & safety within a unionized, multi-shift environment.
- Familiarity with the local area for effective operations.
