We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Safety Engineer to join our Product Integrity Team at BAE Systems - UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of our products and services throughout their engineering lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with customers to agree delivery timescales and allocate tasks to suitably qualified and experienced individuals within the team.
- Generate and evaluate aircraft, system, and subsystem design safety in support of safety qualification and certification requirements.
- Maintain and update hazard logs for the platform and support products, while generating safety assessments and design justifications.
- Ensure safety engineering evidence supports acceptable safety certification of the product design.
- Undertake weapon platform emergent issue risk assessments and support platform system and subsystem areas in undertaking emergent issue risk assessments.
- Knowledge and experience in aerospace/aeronautical engineering, systems, or mechanical engineering and safety engineering in a military airborne platform design environment.
- Working knowledge and experience of safety standards, such as UK regulatory framework, Def-Stan 00-55/00-56, and Mil-Std-882.
- Ability to engage with senior technical and engineering leaders within the business and senior external and partner stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and influence on the technical aspects and acceptability of product safety in a through-life capacity.
