About the Role:
OakGar Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Support Specialist to join our team in a residential care setting. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to children with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred care and support to children with complex needs, including those with self-harm, sexually harmful behaviours, attachment disorders, and risk of child sexual exploitation.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Support children in daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care, as well as teaching independent life skills.
- Accompany children to community-based activities, such as college, swimming, and work placements.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive environment, promoting the physical and emotional well-being of children.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with complex needs, preferably in a residential care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
- Physical fitness, with the ability to engage in activities with children.
- Emotional resilience, with a calm and patient approach to challenging situations.
