Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant

As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant, you will be working with students who have Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children and young people with complex needs.
The Galley Hill Campus is a specialist provision that benefits from bespoke classrooms with specialist rooms such as an independent flat, soft-play etc. You will be working in a high-staffing ratio environment, with four students to three teaching assistants, plus a class teacher.
We are looking for someone who is empathetic, has high emotional resilience, and a desire to make a difference to students' lives. Experience is not required, but an ability to adapt to changing situations is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties in a high-staffing ratio environment
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities
- Providing emotional support and guidance to students
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £27,711.00 - £30,060.00 per annum (FTE), with an actual starting salary of £24,047. This includes a range of benefits, including access to ongoing training and development opportunities, as well as a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Requirements
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
- A willingness to take part in swimming as part of the curriculum
- Emotional resilience and ability to work in a challenging environment
