We are looking for a highly skilled Student Support Worker to join our specialist SEMH school for children aged 7-13 years.
This role is key in supporting students who are struggling to regulate their emotions and may not be ready to engage in whole-class activities. The Intervention Team focuses on providing 1:1 and small group support to help students develop the emotional resilience and skills needed to reintegrate into the classroom setting.
Key Skills:
- Able to provide emotional support to students who are struggling with emotional regulation.
- Experienced in working with children or young people who have SEMH needs, ADHD, autism, or other emotional/behavioural challenges.
- Strong emotional intelligence and an understanding of therapeutic approaches for emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Patiently, empathy, and resilience when working with students in distress.
- Ability to build trusting relationships and mentor students through emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Confidence in handling emotionally challenging situations calmly and with sensitivity.
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience.
