We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our team as an Assistant Operational Site Lead. This role will support the Operational Site Lead in managing the day-to-day operations of a busy parcel distribution depot.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the oversight of daily depot operations, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards.
- Coordinate with the Operational Site Lead to optimise resource allocation and workflow efficiency.
- Support the delivery and improvement of key operational metrics, performance indicators and service levels.
- Communicate operational performance effectively, internally and to clients.
- Follow health and safety, and security procedures and ensure they are always adhered to.
- Engage with clients to understand their specific operational requirements and contribute to maintaining positive client relationships.
- Collaborate with the Operational Site Lead to address client concerns and implement service enhancements.
- Work closely with depot staff to ensure a cohesive and collaborative working environment.
- Provide support in leadership activities and serve as a point of contact alongside the Operational Site Lead.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports on key operational metrics for review and decision-making.
- Support the management of resources, including personnel, equipment, and facilities, to meet operational demands.
- Collaborate with the Operational Site Lead to implement safety measures and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Actively participate in identifying opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of operational enhancements.
- Stay informed about industry developments and integrate relevant best practices into daily operations.
- Assist in addressing operational challenges and implementing corrective actions to maintain smooth operations.
- Support in resolving escalated issues and ensure timely communication of resolutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience in a relevant operational role within the parcel delivery or logistics industry is advantageous.
Must have:
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when necessary.
- Proficiency in data analysis and basic knowledge of analytics tools.
