Transformative Drought Resilience Manager Opportunity

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Drought Resilience Manager to join our Water Resources team and drive our drought preparedness and response strategies forward.

About the Role

As a key member of our Water Resources team, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing drought preparedness and response strategies across the South West Water, Bristol Water, Bournemouth Water, and Isles of Scilly regions. You'll work closely with stakeholders to enhance resilience and preparedness in the face of water scarcity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of drought management plans tailored to the specific needs and challenges of the South West region.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of drought risks and vulnerabilities, scoping and overseeing delivery of data analysis and modelling.
  • Utilise advanced data analysis techniques and hydrological models to forecast drought conditions and inform decision-making processes.
  • Provide oversight of improvement plans relating to drought readiness and monitor the effectiveness of drought management strategies.
  • Coordinate the activation of drought response plans and facilitate communication and coordination among response teams and external partners during drought events.
Requirements
  • Proven leadership capabilities in strategic water resource planning and regulatory frameworks.
  • Track record in developing and implementing effective drought management plans, coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives, and driving innovative solutions to mitigate the impacts of water scarcity.
  • Scientific/Environmental/Hydrology-related Degree.
  • Knowledge of drought-related policies, regulations, and best practices and awareness of social and equity considerations in water resources management.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary of circa £48,000 to £52,000.
