Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at the University of Southampton. The successful candidate will support the ongoing development of our 3D climate models, as well as collaborate with other researchers in the group on various projects. This role requires strong technical skills and experience in software development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of 3D climate models
  • Collaborate with other researchers in the group on various projects
  • Work on projects involving the OASIS model
  • Design and implement complex programming projects

Requirements:
Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent qualifications and/or experience in Computer, Applied Mathematics, or Climate Modelling Sciences. It is also expected that the successful applicant has experience in software development and the ability to independently design, manage, and implement complex programming projects. Experience in parallel numerical algorithms, high-performance computing, or scientific programming is essential.

Benefits and Salary:
Estimated salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum. This position comes with allocated funding for professional travel, including visits to collaborating institutions such as UCL and Caltech.
