Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Aberdeenshire

Hours: Up to 16 hours per week (flexible working schedule)

Salary: £13 per hour

We are a dynamic and growing business in Aberdeenshire, seeking a dedicated and hardworking Accounts Assistant to support our Senior Accountant. This is a varied role that will provide valuable experience in accounting and general administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Senior Accountant with day-to-day accounting tasks
  • Bookkeeping, including maintaining and reconciling ledgers, bank accounts, and managing transactions
  • Prepare invoices, process payments, and manage supplier accounts
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes
  • Support in the preparation of VAT returns and other compliance reporting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Work with Xero to ensure records are up-to-date and accurate
  • Assist with payroll and staff expenses
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Flexible approach to working hours and tasks
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to support various areas of the business
