We're seeking a Senior Data Solutions Architect to play a pivotal role in helping public sector organisations become truly data-driven. As part of our data team, you'll be instrumental in equipping them with robust data platforms, and working towards embedding data knowledge and skills into delivery teams.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Solutions Architect at Made Tech, you'll define, shape, and perfect data strategies in central and local government. You'll work closely with public sector teams to understand the value of their data and help them make the most of it. Your expertise will also be invaluable in establishing yourself as a trusted advisor in data-driven approaches using public cloud services like AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proficiency in Git and ability to explain different branch strategies.
  • Strong experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and guiding infrastructure deployment into various environments.
  • Knowledge of handling and transforming various data types with Apache Spark, Databricks, or Hadoop.
  • Good understanding of modern data system design architectures, including Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Meshes.
  • Able to create data pipelines on cloud environments and integrate error handling within these pipelines.
  • Experience with creating reusable libraries for uniformity across multiple data pipelines.
  • Ability to document and present end-to-end diagrams explaining data processing systems on cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with diagram presentation tools like C4 and UML.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and self-development.
  • Experience working on agile delivery-lead projects and applying agile practices like Scrum, XP, and Kanban.
  • Owning cloud infrastructure underpinning data systems through DevOps approaches.
  • Designing and implementing efficient data transformation processes at scale, both batch and streaming use cases.
  • Skilled in delivering data platforms and knowledgeable in SOLID, DRY, and TDD principles.
  • Demonstrating commercial acumen when working with senior stakeholders to grow accounts organically.
  • Improving resilience by checking software vulnerabilities and implementing testing strategies.
  • Offering guidance on implementing robust DevOps approaches in data projects.
  • Talking about tools needed in DataOps areas like orchestration, integration, and analytics.
