Technical Operations Manager (Cruise) – Permanent – Competitive Package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global shipping company based in their office.

You will be responsible for the efficient operations of the ships assigned to you and work as a member of the ship management team. You will operate and maintain ship equipment in a safe, economic, and efficient way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the technical performance of vessels, including well intervention equipment, and oversee technical budgets.
  • Act as the on-shore contact point for vessels in day-to-day operations related to technical management and mobilization activities.
  • Monitor and ensure vessels operate in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure statutory and classification surveys for all plant and equipment on vessels are carried out.
  • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance to prevent technical/operational non-conformities that may lead to downtime.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the maintenance system by providing feedback to the Fleet Manager.
  • Plan, control, and execute activities connected with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion, or modification of assigned vessels.
  • Plan, control, and execute activities connected to class and flag state survey and certificate requirements.

Requirements:

  • Recognized engineering or naval architecture qualification and/or relevant experience at sea.
  • Good communication and English language skills.
  • Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent in a Leisure/Cruise Technical Department.
  • Financial understanding and experience in administering budgets.
  • Diesel Electric and Podded Drive experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of complex automation systems in shore management or experience.
