We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an After School Club Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the success of our school community.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating a safe and engaging environment for children's play experiences
  • Assisting the Club Manager in planning a programme of activities that meet the needs of the children
  • Forming and maintaining professional boundaries with children, staff, parents, and carers
  • Ensuring adherence to policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Providing a creative programme of arts, crafts, games, sports, drama, music, and off-site activities that cater to the needs and interests of all children
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with children and their families
  • Being responsible for Health and Safety issues at the afterschool club
  • Attending weekly team meetings to discuss progress and issues
  • Carrying out financial and administrative tasks
  • Keeping the building and areas of use clean, tidy, and accessible
  • Following first aid procedures and keeping records of accidents and treatments
  • Deputising for the Club Manager when necessary
Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for an individual with:

  • NVQ2 or equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant discipline (Playworker or Childcare)
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Appropriate knowledge of first aid
  • A willingness to undertake further training if necessary
  • Experience in a similar role or working within a school setting
  • Experience of supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
