Job Title: Project Communications Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Communications Manager to join our Federated Data Platform Programme Team at NHS Arden & GEM CSU. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing critical communications, including Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, parliamentary questions, and public enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • FOI Management: Lead the management of FOI requests, ensuring accurate and timely responses, and develop standard operating procedures for handling FOI requests efficiently.
  • Parliamentary Questions and Public Enquiries: Develop and implement a robust process for coordinating responses to parliamentary questions and public enquiries, ensuring alignment with the strategic messaging of the FDP programme.
  • Strategic Briefings: Prepare and deliver comprehensive briefings and presentation materials for external stakeholder meetings, ensuring effective communication of complex programme details.
  • Event Planning: Organise, plan, and manage high-profile NHS events, including workshops, briefings, and panel discussions, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the FDP programme.
  • Knowledge Base Management: Continuously update and expand the FAQ knowledge base to ensure it remains a relevant and valuable resource for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Support: Act as a key advisor and support to the PMO Lead and Assistant Director, stepping in to deputise as needed, and offer guidance to junior team members.
About You:

We are looking for someone with solid experience in managing communications and events, especially in the public sector or healthcare. You should have a strong track record in handling FOI requests, parliamentary questions, and preparing briefings. You understand the importance of clear communication and ensuring everything aligns with our programme's goals.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; professional certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APMP) are a plus.
  • Proven experience managing complex communications, including FOI requests and parliamentary questions, within the public sector or healthcare.
  • Strong event management skills and experience supporting PMO functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organisational abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with office tools and virtual event platforms.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily remote, with occasional travel to NHS England offices in Waterloo, London.
  • Salary: £58,972 - £68,525 per annum (AfC Band 8B).
  • Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
