Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with children, young people, and their families to provide high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility for the management of a defined caseload, utilizing specialist knowledge and advanced clinical reasoning to undertake assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programs.
  • Take an active role in the holistic assessment and treatment of young people with mental health problems, including those at risk of or who have attempted deliberate self-harm.
  • Provide liaison with other professionals and agencies to ensure effective communication and a comprehensive package of care.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes for children and families.
  • Offer therapeutic interventions based on evidence-based practice and in line with NICE guidelines.
  • Maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping, including electronic data entry and recording, report writing, and responsible exercise of professional self-governance.
  • Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of children, young people, and their families/carers.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual children, young people, and their families/carers.
  • Act as an advocate to facilitate the views and choices expressed by children, young people, families, groups, and communities, where appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Nurse qualification and registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Proven experience working with children, young people, and their families in a mental health setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
  • Knowledge of NICE guidelines and evidence-based practice in mental health.
