Product Line Manager

Edmund Optics Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Product Line Manager to join our team in York, UK. As a Product Line Manager, you will be responsible for defining and developing the overall vision and strategy for select products in the optics field.
Key Responsibilities:- Product Strategy Development: Develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with Edmund Optics' technological vision and core competencies.
- Market Analysis: Gather market and application information from customers to inform product development and expansion.
- Product Development: Develop new standard product, product lines, and custom capability offerings for specific product areas.
- Business Planning: Develop business cases, business plans, product and capability roadmaps, including forecasts, global competitive landscape, pricing, target customers, applications, markets, and end-of-life strategies.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with global sales, business development, marketing, R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to establish necessary plans and technologies for product/capability development and go-to-market strategy.
- Leadership: Direct functional groups without direct reporting authority and lead teams of subject matter experts as required.
- Communication: Communicate product strategy and plan to stakeholders and work with marketing to define marketing strategies across different channels, geographies, and customer segments.
- Industry Knowledge: Remain up-to-date with current scientific literature, travel to trade shows/conferences, and share new and relevant information with the team and key stakeholders.
- Customer Engagement: Evangelize for products internally and externally by hosting training on products and applications, attending tradeshows, conferences, and seminars, and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, partners, and customers.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
- Experience: Two (2) years experience in application engineering, manufacturing engineering, product line engineering, and/or managing products in the optics field.
- Skills: Strong optics product, manufacturing, and technology knowledge, high level of personal initiative, strong analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills, willingness to work with many groups, across departments, and show strong team spirit, strong leadership skills, ability to motivate and train people, ability to manage heavy workload of multiple concurrent projects and priorities at once, excellent problem-solving and creative thinking capabilities, comfortable with all MS Office software, willingness to travel occasionally.
