Job Summary

The Priory Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to lead our team and drive excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Occupational Therapy team and its resources to ensure exceptional standards of care.
  • Coordinate and lead the planning and delivery of multi-disciplinary therapeutic patient activity programs across the hospital.
  • Provide clinical support and professional supervision to the occupational therapy team.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based clinical interventions to enhance patient recovery and sense of wellbeing through engagement in occupation.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to maintain links with community activities and patient social inclusion programs.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the service in line with Care Quality Commission, Governance, National Care Standards & Professional Specific Agendas.
  • Maintain a clinical case load.

Requirements

  • Degree or post-graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of working in mental health (ideally within an inpatient setting).
  • Currently working in at least a Band 6 or 7 role (a lead or head of department role is desirable).
  • Current and valid registration with HCPC.
  • Experience of supervising or line managing staff.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Proven experience of leading and facilitating individual / group sessions.
