Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at MLK Search. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver 1:1, paired, and group interventions to meet the provision outlined on pupils' Education, Health, and Care Plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the wave model of universal, targeted, and specialist levels to provide a holistic approach to therapy.
  • Support pupils with specific areas of difficulty, including fine, gross motor, and sensory needs, and develop interventions to target SEMH needs.
  • Implement strategies to manage pupils' emotional regulation, increase engagement in learning, and develop pupils' self-esteem.
  • Contribute to the assessment of students on admission, using formal assessments and clinical observation to establish the nature of the pupils' difficulties.
  • Manage accurate case notes in line with professional standards and team policy.
  • Provide and monitor therapy programs delivered by other members of the school staff.
  • Work with colleagues in other Trust schools to share knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent with a license to practice.
  • Post-graduate qualification in related area, such as Level 1 & 2 Sensory Integration.
  • Experience working in a similar setting is desirable.
