Area Sales Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strong foodservice industry / FMCG sales professional to join our successful sales team as an Area Sales Manager. Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager, you will be responsible for delivering budgeted sales targets in the Manchester / North West Region by managing and developing existing customer accounts and actively prospecting, winning & opening new accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of between 150-200 foodservice accounts, with full responsibility for cross-selling and upselling to this account base in addition to undertaking new business to add further clients.
  • Develop and implement effective menu planning and food costing strategies at head chef or contract catering manager level to drive sales growth.
  • Work closely with Telesales buddies to ensure alignment on customer growth plans and share notes, actions & next steps.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow sales through promotions, NPD, and additional products to range/category.
Requirements:
  • Proven sales experience working in the foodservice / FMCG industry, with a strong understanding of the sector and its challenges.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including head chefs and contract catering managers.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex sales strategies and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and identify opportunities for growth.
