Job Title: Senior Stock Condition Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Stock Condition Surveyor to join our team at Adecco UK Limited. As a Senior Stock Condition Surveyor, you will play a key role in collecting, assessing, and planning required works to our housing and estates.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of post-qualification working experience as a Building Surveyor, with a proven track record of undertaking housing stock condition surveys, including HHSRS surveys. You will be responsible for undertaking surveys of council homes and other assets, assessing them against the decent home standard and housing health and safety rating system.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that the findings of the surveys can be used to inform and influence our investment programmes, strategies, and policies at a strategic level. Additionally, you will provide technical and administration support to the Asset Planning Team and its service users, in providing a comprehensive service to the highest professional standards on all aspects of the planning of our housing improvements and maintenance capital programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake surveys of council homes and other assets, assessing them against the decent home standard and housing health and safety rating system.
  • Undertake audits and spot checks as required on the stock condition surveys undertaken and data received by consultants, to ensure consistency of assessments.
  • Ensure that the findings of the surveys can be used to inform and influence our investment programmes, strategies, and policies at a strategic level.
  • Provide technical and administration support to the Asset Planning Team and its service users.
  • Assess homes against the decent home standard, HHSRS, and council standards and programmes, making recommendations on the timing of future investment in individual properties.
  • Make recommendations regarding future investment needs in order to maintain the housing stock in optimum condition, including required improvements.
  • Contribute to decisions on specific 'targeted' surveys to ensure 100% of housing stock is surveyed within each survey cycle.
  • Contribute to council standards in relation to decent homes, and responsive and planned repairs, such as the use of materials and products.
  • Assess and respond with due urgency if a potentially dangerous situation is discovered during the course of a survey, including liaising with Responsive repairs staff regarding urgent/HHSRS hazards.
