Fuel Quality Manager

Astute People is seeking a Fuel Quality Manager to join their team at a leading operator of Energy from Waste plants. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the waste / fuel supply complies with the specification of the Fuel Supply Agreement. This role will also cover the company's site in Cheshire, which is currently under construction. The ideal candidate will have experience with Fuel Supply Agreements or Fuel Supply Contracts, contract & commercial experience, and supplier & stakeholder management experience. They will also have a working knowledge of the UK Waste Market & relevant policies / legislation. The Fuel Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day obligations within the Fuel Supply Agreements, carrying out supplier visits, audits & inspections, and supporting the Operations Team on the EFW to monitor waste quality, monitoring and reporting non-confirming waste / fuel. They will also be responsible for monitoring of samples to ensure compliance against Calorific Value and REGOs, coordinating & supporting the O&M teams fuel delivery schedule, managing logistics & diversions when plant is offline or fuel is of substandard quality, and supporting Fuel Supply Manager with contract management which includes variations, price increases, reconciliations and contract renewals. The Fuel Quality Manager will also be responsible for preparing relevant documentation for Environmental Agency declarations & reports and supporting the Fuel Supply Manager with procurement and management of fuel supply contracts. The ideal candidate will have a relevant Waste Management qualification such as WAMITAB or COTC, IOSH or NEBOSH, and personal skills such as experience with Fuel Supply Agreements or Fuel Supply Contracts, contract & commercial experience including bids, evaluations, KPI monitoring & compliance, supplier & stakeholder management experience, and working knowledge of the UK Waste Market & relevant policies / legislation.
