Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Electrical Calibration team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing and supervising high-level calibration and repair of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and supervise high-level calibration and repair of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment
  • Write, review, and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
  • Participate in UKAS audits and achieve UKAS signatory status
  • Deliver on-the-job training and experiential learning to apprentices and team members
  • Communicate with technical stakeholders and consult on new measurement technologies

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in a precision electrical metrology laboratory environment
  • Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001)
  • Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent)

Desirable:

  • Existing UKAS signatory status for Electrical Calibration
  • Experience in creating measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level
  • Experience in using automation software (Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, Met/Teams, Labview)
  • Experience in mechanical, dimensional, and temperature calibrations
