About the Role
The Energy Systems Catapult is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operational Support Specialist to join our Operations Team. As an Operational Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the ongoing operations for Living Lab trials and our other assets through effective communication, task management, reporting, and strategic communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and deployment of technical support to consumers, participants, and local authorities using our various platforms.
- Interface with stakeholders such as Living Lab participants, colleagues, and commercial partners using strong communication skills.
- Review reports to monitor data quality with the Tableau analytics tool, investigating any gaps in data, and escalating where necessary to resolve.
- Report and track any operational bugs in the platform software.
- Manage day-to-day work priorities and escalate work where necessary.
- Contribute to risk and quality assessment and management.
- Support the installation and decommissioning of technologies into homes, tracking installations, stock levels, and linking status, liaising with participants, installers, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations such as GDPR.
- Ensure compliance with relevant operational and business procedures.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely using written and verbal communication methods.
- Comfortable adapting communication style to suit a variety of users, including vulnerable consumers, and across multiple organisational levels.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work on different projects and products simultaneously.
- Collaborative and flexible, with the ability to step up to work on new projects and tasks.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to develop new skills and support tools and systems.
- Focus on continuous improvement, with a commitment to working efficiently and effectively.
Desirable Experience and Skills
- Interest in decarbonisation and/or the energy sector.
- Experience in customer service or a similar role.
- Problem-solving skills, with an eagerness to fully understand issues and prevent them from happening again.
- Experience applying methodical problem-solving approaches.
- Experience scrutinising large datasets, especially using reports and queries within Tableau.
- Experience complying with GDPR.
- Risk and quality assessment and management.
- Managing trials and products (New Product Introduction).
- Working in cross-functional project teams.
