About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Practitioner to join our team at HMP Oakwood. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in promoting learning opportunities and supporting the educational needs of our learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and administer basic skills assessments to identify learning needs
  • Develop and implement learning support plans to enhance learner engagement and inclusion
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop strategies to support learners with diverse needs
  • Provide guidance and support to learners to help them achieve their educational goals
Requirements
  • Understanding of how people learn and methods to enhance learning experiences
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to work effectively with people presenting challenging behaviour
  • Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy (or willingness to work towards)
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification for Learning Support Practitioners (or willingness to work towards)
