About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Fundraiser to join our team at Simon on the Streets. As a Community Fundraiser, you will play a key role in maximising income from existing community partnerships while proactively seeking new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, build and manage relationships with community supporters to maximise and sustain income, providing the highest standards of donor care service throughout.
  • Process enquiries from community supporters and groups effectively and efficiently, whilst maintaining excellent levels of donor stewardship.
  • Increase income generated from individual giving against agreed targets.
  • Research, approach and source new support from community groups (including schools, universities, faith groups, clubs, pubs, groups, and individuals).
  • Develop and deliver compelling fundraising activities for these groups to participate in and follow up approaches on the phone and face to face to maximise income.
  • Deliver presentations to a range of community groups/schools/universities, etc.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications Officer and Outreach team, in addition to external partners to develop the profile of all Community Fundraising activities through targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Organise and attend supermarkets and community festivals to engage the community and raise the profile of SOTS.
  • Manage the placement, maintenance and income from Simon on the Streets static collection boxes according to UK legislation and Simon on the Streets policies and procedures.
  • Develop and support a team of community volunteers and coordinate fundraising activities.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual who can inspire and engage with our community. Demonstrable experience and success in a fundraising role is essential. You will have a strategic thinker able to create opportunities for engagement and income generation, with inspiring, engaging and persuasive communication skills. You will also have the ability to bring to life the stories of our service users and to use these to inspire others.

You will be a team player, subscribing to one team approach, positive and respectful, with a confident, friendly and approachable attitude and manner. A pro-active self-starter able to work on their own initiative with an engaging and inspiring can-do attitude is essential.
