Job Title: Structural CAD Technician

We are seeking a skilled Structural CAD Technician to join our structural team and assist with the production of technical drawings, utilizing 2D and 3D tools to communicate structural designs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the structural team to deliver services to clients through multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Proactively communicate with design disciplines to coordinate building information models, identifying and resolving potential clashes.
  • Take ownership of work, ensuring understanding of engineers' designs, and seeking clarity when necessary.
  • Quality check and review work to ensure accuracy before passing to engineers for final check.
  • Assist engineering teams with site/property inspection functions and prepare reports in agreed format.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance to other design disciplines with technical drawing and modelling support.
  • Support BIM Systems Manager with maintenance and development of Norse BIM standards, practices, content creation, and templates.
  • Deploy, implement, and consistently use Norse BIM standards across the multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Deliver design services within available fee, to required quality, and within programme.
  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to achievement of business plan objectives and targets.
  • Carry out other duties commensurate with grade as directed by line manager.
  • Promote continuous improvement and deliver high-quality products and services embracing quality standards.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar or related role.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD & Revit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience producing reinforcement detailing drawings and bar bending schedules.
  • Understanding of Building Structure Technology.
  • HNC/HND/TIStructE or equivalent in an Architectural, Engineering, or Construction related discipline.
  • Certificate of formal AutoCAD or Revit training.
  • Holds a current CSCS site card or is prepared to Immediately attain.
  • Experience with creating Revit families.
