About the Role

University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Community Nurse Specialist to join our team. This role will involve delivering high-quality, individualized care and support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • To work as part of the Jessie May care team, providing holistic nursing care and support to children and young people in their homes or other community settings.
  • To supervise and care for children and young people in the absence of their parents or carers, promoting empowerment and partnership.
  • To communicate effectively with all members of the care team, ensuring seamless delivery of care.
  • To participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans, working closely with the end-of-life team leader and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and motivated nurse to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • RSCN/RN (Child) or equivalent qualification and current NMC registration.
  • Relevant post-registration experience, including palliative and/or end-of-life care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families.
  • Able to advocate and empower vulnerable young children and their families, promoting family-centered care.
