To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with the GMS contract. The post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, and maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Job Responsibilities- Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMC contract, additional, and enhanced services contracts along with agreed non-NHS work (medicals, reports, etc.).
- Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, and dealing with correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
- Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, including providing health education.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to a high standard.
- Complete referrals where appropriate, including for any suggested diagnostic testing and report on results to patients as required.
- Prescribe in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary.

- MRCGP
- General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
- Full GMC Registration
- Must possess the right to work in the UK and be on the NHS Performer's List
- A willingness to supervise and mentor other clinical staff in-person is an essential attribute for this role.
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience of working in Primary Care (Post Qualification experience not essential)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & oral)
- Clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of a GP
- Effective time management (planning and organisation)
- Problem solving
- Experience with audits
- Ability to follow clinical guidelines, policies and procedures
- Experience with clinical risk management
- Positive attitude; self-motivated and able to motivate others
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Understanding of the challenges and wider issues of health and social needs within the Primary Care setting
- Demonstrate an understanding of health education, promotion and public health
- Experience of working in a GP Practice
