Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Sodexo in Yeovil. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for our corporate clients.

As a Sous Chef, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement new menu ideas, train and supervise a team of cooks, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas to meet the needs of our clients
  • Train and supervise a team of cooks to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen
  • Monitor food costs and inventory levels to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and catering management team to develop and implement new menu ideas and kitchen procedures
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Chef in a high-volume setting
  • Professional cookery or culinary qualifications
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards

Package Description

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The hourly rate is £14 per hour, plus Sodexo benefits. Parking on site, meals on shift, and full training and uniform provided.
