About the Role:

Powys County Council is seeking a skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Care and Support Team. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a social work service to individual children and young people, with a focus on keeping them safe and enabling them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a social work service to individual children and young people, including assessing their needs and developing plans to support them.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to ensure effective delivery of services and achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to children and young people, ensuring that safeguarding measures are in place to minimize risk.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and families in a social work setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding protocols.
