About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Fostering Support Worker to join our Mainstream Fostering Team at Powys County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children, young people, foster carers, and their families in achieving their full potential.

About the Job:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young people in foster care, promoting their wellbeing and resilience.
  • Work closely with foster carers and their families to understand their needs and provide tailored support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and their families, ensuring a sense of belonging and connection.
  • Collaborate with social workers, schools, and other professionals to advocate for the needs of children and families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

About You:

  • You will be a passionate and dedicated individual with a strong commitment to supporting children and families.
  • Experience in child development, trauma-informed practice, and working with vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
  • You will be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with children, young people, and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Valid driving license and access to a car are essential for this role.
