About the Role

As a Volunteer Programme Lead in Palliative Care at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients and their families. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead our End of Life volunteering service across the trust.

This fixed-term role is funded by Bristol and Weston Hospitals Charity and aims to develop, embed, and manage a new volunteer programme in palliative care. The post holder will play a key role in improving patient experience through a dedicated volunteer support service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer programme in end-of-life care.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of volunteers to provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Work closely with clinical teams and palliative care specialists to identify patients who would benefit from the volunteer programme.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer programme and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in maths and English or relevant experience.
  • NVQ level 3 Customer Care or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including handling sensitive information and complaints.
  • Knowledge of Equality & Diversity legislation and recruitment practices.
  • Previous experience in volunteering or working with volunteers.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages, including spreadsheets and databases.
Salary:

£40,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience.Location:
