Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Technician

At Thames Water, we are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our team at Ashford Common Water Treatment Works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures.
  • Investigate plant failures and perform repairs efficiently to minimize plant downtime.
  • Conduct scheduled planned maintenance work on electrical equipment to prevent breakdowns.
  • Provide technical advice and training to the wider team.
  • Operate technical equipment such as pumps, control gear, motors, starters, and electronic control systems.
Requirements:
  • Be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Take ownership of responding quickly to faults and identifying solutions.
  • Be proactive and willing to take the lead on recommendations and improvements.
  • Be prepared to undergo training in safety procedures and have knowledge of health and safety standards.
