About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Governing Body as a Lay Governor at Sense College East. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of our college and ensuring that we provide an excellent education experience for all our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and support to the college senior management team
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the college's Strategic Plan
  • Review and monitor progress against Key Performance Indicators and dashboards
  • Participate in Ofsted inspection meetings on governance
  • Monitor implementation of safeguarding procedures and keep updated with current legislation
  • Attend and participate in governor training events, student celebrations, and college visits

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about Further Education, particularly Specialist Education, and has a commitment to Safeguarding. You should have a strong understanding of issues facing the post-16 specialist education sector and be able to demonstrate strategic leadership and governance skills. A passion for making a positive contribution to meetings and providing constructive challenge to support senior managers is essential.
