Lead Specialist in Learning Disability Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at the NHS. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to take on a leadership role in providing exceptional care to patients with learning disabilities.
About the RoleThis full-time post offers the chance to work as a Responsible Clinician for Byron Ward inpatient unit, based at Hollins Park Hospital, and manage a small community caseload of 75-80 patients based out of Norris Green Hub in Liverpool.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for conducting patient reviews, leading Multidisciplinary reviews, birth planning meetings, CPA reviews, discharge planning meetings, and multi-professional meetings. You will also be required to carry out comprehensive Risk Assessments and participate in Trusts risk management processes such as Health Risk Assessment and Management Meetings (H-RAMM) and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA) Meetings if required.
The successful candidate will provide medical leadership to the team, maintain high levels of effective communication with other parts of the Mental health service across the Trust, across maternity services, and primary care. They will also have the opportunity to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training, participate in continuous professional development, and contribute to research or service evaluation.

To be considered for this role, applicants must hold MB BS or equivalent medical qualification and have a qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management. They must also hold a valid UK driving licence or provide evidence of proposed alternative.
Applicants must be included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of appointment and have approved clinician status or be able to achieve within three months of appointment. They must also be approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment and be in good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
BenefitsThis role offers a competitive salary range of £85,000 - £117,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a generous pension scheme and opportunities for professional development.
The estimated annual salary for this role is £90,000.
