Buxton & Leek College seeks an exceptional professional to join its Further Education (FE) division. As a Student Welfare Adviser, you will be responsible for leading the FE College Discretionary Funds assessment and award process, inclusive of Childcare and Free College Meals. You will work closely with the College's FE Fees and Finance Team, Transport Working Group, and Safeguarding department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budget, administer, monitor, process, and maintain all applications in conjunction with ESFA guidelines on the assessment of FE funds to students through the Buxton and Leek College Bursary and funding schemes.
  • Provide leadership, governance, and oversight of the FE Discretionary Support Fund Panels.
  • Support the ongoing development of the Student Bursary guidelines for the assessment of funds.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in customer/student-centered service planning and development, working with young people aged 14 years and above, and working in an administrative role in a busy multi-disciplinary professional service setting.

The salary for this role is approximately £32,500 - £36,500 per annum, pro rata, with scope for further progression up to £41,113 per annum, pro rata.
