About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and assisting in the development of mechanical equipment to achieve maximum reliability in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and site operating procedures at all times.
  • Liaise with planners and permit issuing authorities to prepare jobs and ensure risks are fully understood.
  • Examine mechanical equipment to identify potential faults and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Accurately record all work carried out using a suitable CMMS to inform planners and other asset personnel of plant status.
  • Participate in equipment improvement teams and contribute to the delivery of technical input.
  • Assist in the acceptance testing of new equipment within the Grangemouth site.

Requirements

  • Relevant technical qualification (SVQ level 3 / HNC)
  • Significant experience related to the role
  • Knowledge of rotating machinery (compressors, pumps, blowers, RALs)
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in using measuring equipment
  • Ability to work to close tolerances
  • Experience with air tools, air drill, and grinders
  • Experience with pressure testing
  • Basic IT skills
