About the Role

As a key member of the Elsevier team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's approach to responsible AI. Working closely with the Responsible AI & Data Science (RAIDS) Senior Director and team, you will help implement and evolve policies, standards, and best practices for AI governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a market analysis of AI governance trends and best practices, identifying opportunities and threats.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on how to achieve organizational change within Elsevier and operationalize the RELX Responsible AI Principles.
  • Conduct research and analyses of operational effectiveness, processes, and stakeholders in AI governance, driving the development of governance artefacts.
  • Scale the internal RAIDS Champions training program, providing ongoing education and awareness, and facilitating Algorithmic Impact Assessments.
  • Consult on technology and AI policy across the business, working with governance leaders on the EU AI Act.

Requirements

  • Expertise in AI ethics and data governance, with up-to-date knowledge of the AI governance landscape.
  • Deep knowledge of ethics and diversity issues in publishing, research, academia, and healthcare.
  • Awareness of the data technology landscape, including knowledge of tooling and platform capabilities.
  • Experience in delivering training, including developing materials, planning, and facilitating workshops.
