Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced ALN Teaching Assistant to work in a Special School in Church Village, Pontypridd. The school supports learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour.

Job Overview:

  • Location: Church Village, Pontypridd
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or Challenging Behaviour
  • Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
  • Assist staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Work with learners in small groups or one-to-one with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons
  • Assist learners at break time with their lunch
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies
Requirements:
  • At least 3 months' experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings - experience in an SEN setting would be beneficial
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
