Fire Safety Specialist Job Opportunity

Located in the vibrant city of Belfast, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Fire Safety Specialist to join our dynamic team at Hunter Dunning. As a key member of our Fire Engineering team, you will collaborate with renowned architects, councils, and design teams to create innovative solutions that prioritize fire safety.

We offer a highly competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, with additional benefits including a bonus scheme, 27 days' annual leave, and a comprehensive pension plan. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire engineering, with extensive experience in delivering fire-engineered solutions for complex projects. A degree in a relevant field, registered as a Chartered Engineer, and a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) are highly desirable. Strong communication and project management skills, alongside the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are essential for success in this role.

The role will involve collaborating with clients across various sectors, including commercial, residential, education, and healthcare, to provide strategic advice and innovative design solutions. As a Fire Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for leading complex fire engineering projects, reviewing technical packages, and implementing fire strategies during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex fire engineering projects from start to end
  • Review technical packages during RIBA Stages 4 and 5
  • Support and mentor junior engineers within the team
  • Implement fire strategies during the construction phase
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver innovative design solutions
  • Contribute to business development and growth
Requirements
  • BEng Hons, MEng, or MSc in a relevant field
  • CEng, MRICS, MCABE, or working towards
  • Minimum associate member of the IFE
  • Extensive experience in fire engineering, with a strong understanding of UK legislation and regulations
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
