We are seeking a skilled Fire & Security Service Engineer to join our team at Dalkia UK.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Edinburgh and its surroundings.

Job Purpose

Our ideal candidate will carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and extra works/emergencies in accordance with contract requirements on Fire & Security Systems.

Aims and Objectives

The selected professional will focus on achieving significant results and outcomes for the business, helping DALKIA maintain its leading edge status in the industry and our reputation with customers.

The job requires adherence to Health and Safety at all times.

The successful candidate will be responsive and cooperative and achieve required tasks set.

The professional will be part of a cohesive working team aiming to provide a high level of service to clients.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Fire & Security Service Engineer will carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained to maximise operational effectiveness and reliability of Fire & Security Systems.

The professional will adhere to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.

The Fire & Security Service Engineer will ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to and maintain accurate records/documentation associated with Fire & Security Systems.

The professional will respond promptly and effectively to all relevant reactive maintenance issues and help desk requests.

The Fire & Security Service Engineer will coordinate initial actions associated with all requests from clients.

The professional will coordinate visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with Fire & Security Systems aspects of the PPM schedules.

The Fire & Security Service Engineer will respond to call-outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the contract as required.

The professional will diagnose faults associated with PPM or Reactive maintenance of sites.

The Fire & Security Service Engineer will assist other trades as necessary.

The professional will manage workload and prioritise jobs appropriately.

The Fire & Security Service Engineer will provide reports related to work and equipment as required.

The professional will undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the client.

The Fire & Security Service Engineer will work proactively towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions, such as System Upgrades, Like for Like replacements, Project works, etc.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

The knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience relevant to the position are:

Job Requirements:

Essential

Fire & Security Apprenticeship (or recognised equivalent)

Health and Safety Training

GCSE (or 'O' Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent

Industry experience with similar maintenance duties, including fault diagnosis, rectification, and preventative tasks

The candidate must be fully experienced in fire alarms and have the certification to evidence this

Must have experience in IP and analogue CCTV

Must be IPAF trained and have a valid Chapter 8 ECS card

Desirable

City & Guilds Part 3 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent

Experience in IT & Networking

Supervisory experience for future development
