We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Design Authority to join our team at Exponential-e. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical design and input across our platform, data centre, and Smart Hands services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Technical Input
    • Provide comprehensive design work and technical input for platform, data centre, and Smart Hands services.
    • Develop and contribute to technical design documents, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
    • Collaborate with the Service Architect to integrate platform services.
    • Input into service and change as required to support ITIL aligned delivery and technical change.
  • Support for SDM and Teams
    • Provide technical guidance and support to Service Delivery Managers (SDMs) and support teams.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to platform services.
    • Ensure that all technical designs adhere to best practices and industry standards.
  • Collaboration with Account Director and Commercial Efforts
    • Support the Account Director in commercial efforts, providing technical expertise and input during client engagements.
    • Participate in pre-sales activities, including technical presentations and proposal development.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
  • Support the Head of Service Partnership
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement plans.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure services remain competitive and compliant with relevant standards.
  • Documentation and Compliance
    • Ensure that all technical documentation is up-to-date and accurately reflects the current state of the platform services.
    • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the status of design and technical activities.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for service improvement and implement changes to enhance service quality and efficiency.
    • Promote the adoption of best practices and continuous improvement within the technical teams.
    • Facilitate lessons learned sessions and incorporate feedback into future designs and implementations

Key Outputs:

  • Comprehensive and well-documented technical designs for platform, data centre, and Smart Hands services.
  • Effective technical support and guidance for SDMs and support teams.
  • Successful integration of platform services and production of associated documentation
  • Strong relationships with key stakeholders and effective support for commercial efforts.
  • Continuous improvement in service delivery and technical processes.
  • Compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in technical design and consultancy roles, preferably within a platform services or data centre context.
  • Technical Design: Expertise in developing and contributing to technical design documents for platform services.
  • Technical Support: Strong skills in providing technical guidance and support to SDMs and support teams.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work closely with the Service Architect, Account Director, and Head of Service Partnership.
  • Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in platform services and data centre management including but not limited to: Dell Compute and Storage, IBM HW, VMware, Nlyte DCIM, ITIL
  • Documentation: Proficiency in maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Compliance: Understanding of relevant regulations and standards to ensure all technical designs are compliant.
  • Stakeholder Management: Skills in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Capability to identify and implement opportunities for service improvement.
  • Certifications: Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Dell, VMware/Broadcom, ITIL, TOGAF) are beneficial.
