We are looking for a skilled Civil Engineering Contract Manager to lead our contract administration team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for managing multiple contracts, collaborating with estimators, and leading a team of engineering and contract staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contract Management: Ensure that contracts are managed effectively to meet financial, safety, quality, and environmental targets.
  2. Pre-Contract Planning: Work closely with estimators to prepare contracts.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of engineers and contract staff.
  4. Legal and Contractual Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with current contract forms, legislation, and relevant acts.
  5. Contract Administration: Manage the acceptance, approval, and issuance of contracts and subcontracts.
  6. Project Planning: Plan, programme, and resource contracts effectively.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise, negotiate, and meet with clients, consulting engineers, surveyors, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders.
  8. Bid Preparation: Assist in preparing high-quality bids, PQQs, and presentations as required.
  9. Advisory Role: Provide technical, contractual, and legal advice to the team.
  10. Financial Oversight: Provide accurate information for monthly contract appraisals, budget monitoring, and financial control.
  11. Claims Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage claims and variations.
  12. Payment Applications: Compile applications for payment and agree on final accounts.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree or HNC in civil engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Essential experience in civil engineering contract management.
  • Health & Safety: Strong understanding of health and safety policies.
  • Contracting Knowledge: Solid grasp of contracting principles and contract forms.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Driving Licence: Full UK driver's licence.

Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
